Environmental Initiatives
ARDI Cement is committed to responsible industrial development. Environmental measures include:
- Use of dry-process technology to reduce emissions
- Implementation of dust recycling and capturing systems
- Plans for waste heat recovery and energy efficiency
- Local sourcing of raw materials to reduce transportation footprint
Community Engagement
We work closely with communities in Hula Hulul and Adiga Felema, focusing on:
- Job creation (88 permanent roles during operations)
- Infrastructure support (roads, water access, healthcare and school facilities)
- Health initiatives in response to local public health challenges
- Public consultations and involvement in decision-making processes
Resettlement Action Plan
In line with Ethiopia’s legal frameworks and IFC policies:
- 30 hectares of land was acquired through a structured, inclusive process
- 21 farm plots were compensated with full transparency
- Alternative resettlement sites identified and developed with local authorities
- Support for water, electricity, and housing facilities provided to all resettled households
Sustainability Reports
We will publish annual sustainability reports tracking environmental, social, and governance (ESG) outcomes. These will be made available for public download.
