State-of-the-Art Facility in Dire Dawa
Our cement manufacturing plant is strategically located in Hula Hulul Rural Kebele, approximately 18 km from Dire Dawa and 510 km from Addis Ababa. Built on a 30-hectare site, the facility operates using the dry process technology, renowned for its energy efficiency and environmental advantages.
The plant will initially operate at 50% capacity and scale up to full capacity (5,000 tonnes per day) by Year 4. Once at full output, it will produce up to 1.5 million tonnes of cement annually, packaged into 30 million 50kg bags per year.
We employ highly automated systems and a production flow that includes:
- Limestone crushing and transport
- Raw meal preparation
- Clinkerisation through rotary kiln
- Cooling, grinding, and gypsum blending
- Final cement packaging and storage
Reliable Raw Material Supply
A core strength of our operations is access to abundant and high-quality raw materials:
Limestone Quarry:
Located adjacent to the plant, spanning approximately 750 acres (or 3.03 km²), with minable reserves of 48.65 million m³, enough to sustain over 100 years of operation.
Clay Quarries:
Sourced within a 3 km radius (Melka Jebdu Kebele)
Other Inputs:
Gypsum and pumice are locally sourced within Ethiopia, ensuring a fully domestic supply chain.
This self-sufficiency not only guarantees consistent quality but also reduces input costs and mitigates supply chain risks.
Efficient Logistics & Market Access
The plant is strategically positioned to take advantage of critical infrastructure:
- 7.2 km from the Dire Dawa Dry Port
- 8.1 km from the Free Trade Zone
- Linked to the new Djibouti–Melka Jebdu–Addis Ababa highway
- Access to internal roads and rail for regional distribution
This connectivity allows for seamless transport of both raw materials and finished products to domestic and regional markets, improving delivery times and cost efficiency.
